Someplace to stash my stuff
a great addition to its Lumia phones

As the title suggests, Nokia is looking to Windows tablets as its next venture, which seems a natural progression after the renowned phone maker teamed with Microsoft to release the first Windows 8 phone.  The Nokia CEO was speaking in Sydney Australia about this development today, February 5... see more here.

Hmmm, this certainly is interesting, particularly for Nokia Lumia owners who are looking to purchase a tablet in the near future.  I was looking at purchasing a Surface by Microsoft, but now I think I'll wait to see what Nokia has to offer.  If it's anything like their Lumia phone range, it will be a well made quality product and a more than viable option to the Surface and other Windows tablets out there.

As the article explains, this is not the first time Nokia has ventured into the tablet realm... that its Linux powered tablets were doing what the iPad does long before the iPad did it.

if and when nokia releases a win8 tablet, i may have to sell my surface and get one. that will definitely be true if the nokia tablet has the build quality of the lumia 920. the mock-ups i've seen look pretty impressive but they ARE mock-ups, not official nokia photo releases.

Oh boy. More toys!

Seriously Mark...this will go a long way to upping the ante particularly for the competition should it go the way you suggested. I've heard nothing but good about Nokia's Lumia 920. When I are rich and infamous...look out!

I didn't get around to a Surface so I'm gonnna have to find something else to sell... and it won't be my body.  Can't give it away!  Well not in 'that' sense.... and paying somebody to take it ain't gonna get me a Nokia tablet, is it?

Well you're half way there.  You're infamous.  If only the other half were so easy, hey?  As for upping the ante, well Nokia's the company to do it, what with its phone manufacturing expertise and previous tablet experience.  More to the point, they make quality products that are nice to use, so I imagine their tablets would be well received by the buying public.  I know that I'm going to wait until their tablet is released before I seriously look to purchase one.

I can't see how Apple would have anything to sue Nokia over. If the OS is Windows 8 and tablets being fairly generic in appearance, Apple will likely have nothing it could sue for.  Frankly, Id like to see Apple sue and lose bigtime... even without Steve Jobs they're still smug bastards.  On another Apple note, I read earlier today that they're releasing a 128 gig iPad for a few bucks short of a grand.  Personally, I think it's another nail in Apple's coffin... so bring it on Mr Cook... I certainly won't buy one.

Nah, I wanna sit back and see Apple crumble.  [at least I was the one who "done it"]
