Yay, Game of Thrones season 8 has begun. Yippee!!!!.

Sadly, it is the final season and there will be no more after the 6 episodes.  However, I am grateful for those episodes and will get the final season on Bluray to complete my GoT collection when it is released.

So, I have read several theories as to how John Snow and his allies defeat the WhiteWalkers, one being he and Daenerys Targaryen are forced to marry to restore the balance of fire and ice after she too becomes a WhiteWalker.

However, that is one thought of many.  What are your thoughts as to how the series concludes?

Quoting starkers,

I do recommend that you get to watch it yourself.

That's the plan Mark. Didn't start from the beginning and it doesn't make sense to watch any episode and not know what's going on.

Yeah, good thinking, Ross.... start from word go and watch every epidode from there on.  It has been a few years since I saw season 1, so it will seem like almost new to me.

Can't wait to watch all episodes on DVD. I just know I'll see something I missed. Besides, I can pause and go and make popcorn, LOL

Exactly!  I'm sure there are things I missed as well, and rewind is also an option .  Besides, I'd rather watch the entire series at my own leisure rather than having to fit in with a network's scheduling.

Nope, didn't notice it... will have to rewatch to see what all the fuss is about.  Please don't read on if you don't want to see anything to spoil it for you.... not that I'm necessarily on the money with my thoughts.  I'm just going on past episodes and possible events

On another note, it looks like Cersei is better prepared for the upcoming conflict, with massive catapaults on the walls.  However, I still think she will lose, and given that Arya is on her way there to kill her.  Cersei's time may be up sooner than we think, regardless of her protecting giant.... who stands there like a monolith day in day and day out, is fat, overweight and slow due to a lack of exercise and combat duties.

Arya will slip into the city unnoticed/undetected to get close the Cersei, who won't know what hit her.

WOW!!! Just WOW!!!  I watch episode 5 last night and was totally gobsmacked, to put it mildly.  Let's just say that the train of events and outcome was not as I expected.... or hoped for.  I was hoping that Arya would bump Cersei off and save the need for a bloody battle for Kings Landing.  It didn't pan out that way and Arya was lucky to escape the city with her life after Daenerys went on a rampage with her remaining dragon.

It seems that right near the end of the episode, Cersei and Jaime were crushed by rubble under the Red Keep, but that may be what the writers want us to think, and that they will still prove to be a pain in our heroes sides.... not that either has much left to fight for.

Thing is, those final scenes leave us with many questions as to how episode 6 will pan out and the series will conclude.  There may yet be conflicts between Jon Snow and Daenerys over various events, and given his sense of right and being fair, he may yet decide to take the Iron Throne, despite not really wanting it to begin with.

Who knows that outcome, but it has been a cracker of a season and will go down in history as the best of the series.

Just 3 more days 'til the GoT finale... 4 days in Australia.  I don't know what I'm going to do for a TV fix after Monday, there's just eff all else to choose from right now.  I might have to rely on my DVD/Bluray collection until something worthy to watch comes along.

For those in the US and elsewhere, look out for an Aussie show called Glitch.  It aired here on our ABC a couple of years back, so I'm not sure how, when or where it would be aired elswhere, but it is worth looking up.  Glitch is a sci.fi, mystery, thriller about a small rural town where people who have died turn up again and try to lead normal lives.... thoroughly enjoyable.

So GoT is over and there's nothing else on TV I want to watch.  Think I might hibernate for a while.

How about The Spanish Princess on STARZ? Looks pretty good.

How about The Spanish Princess on STARZ? Looks pretty good.

Thanks, I'll give it a look.

@ SJN.  I had a look at the write up on The Spanish Princess and I'm not too sure it's my cup of tea at this time.  However, I will record it on my Foxtel top box for later viewing, as other members of the household may enloy it as a binge-watch with me.

Thing is, I still have The 100, a sci.fi I have followed since the beginning, and now there's another new show that has peaked my interest.  Blood and Treasure looks like it will have action, drama and be a bit of a thriller, with an art thief and antiquities expert teaming up to track down a terrorist while trying to avert an ancient apocolypse.

Nothing is ever going to top Game Of Thrones, though.... NOTHING!!!!

Have you seen the DaVinci Code?

Have you seen the DaVinci Code?

Yes I have, a pretty good show, too.  Another one I watched, which was a completely different setting and character, was Ga Vinci's Demons... a 3 season historic saga about Leonardo Da Vinci's younger years while serving the Duke of Florence.  Also a fantastic series worth the watch.  In fact, I shall watch it again before rewatching Game of Thrones in a month or two.

You should also check out these two oldies but goodies. One is the Raven with Vincent Price and the other is the original Wolfman with Lon Chaney Junior. Both are classics.

on May 23, 2019

I've seen them both, along with other Vincient Price, Lon Chaney and Christopher Lee classics.  Thing is, Ross, I'm more looking for TV series with continuing storylines and plots, and thus far the pickin's are lean as far as new content goes.  There are some older series I've already seen, but most are watchable again and I have the DVDs or Blurays to do that at my own leisure.
